Students can choose either the LL.M. in General Law, Air and Space Law, Bioethics, Comparative Law or Environment; or the D.C.L. in general law, comparative law or air and space law.
Postgraduate certificates can only be obtained in comparative law or air and space law. Applicants must upload supporting documents via Minerva after completing the online application (after receiving the confirmation notice by email). Not all documents can be uploaded via Minerva. See Uploading supporting documents below. Applicants who are offered admission will be given a deadline (see acceptance of our offer) within which they must accept or reject our offer. This deadline is indicated in our letter of admission. If we have not received a response by the date indicated, our offer of admission will be withdrawn. In your research proposal, you must describe your planned program of study as a doctoral candidate in law at McGill. Your description should illustrate why you are interested in writing a thesis rather than taking a course-based LLM and your preparation for it.
After completing the online application, applicants must ensure that the required supporting documents are uploaded via Minerva (or, if applicable, sent directly to the Faculty of Law`s Admissions Office). Documents sent by mail must be mailed or delivered no later than the dates indicated in the law school application deadlines. Documents sent by fax or email will not be accepted unless expressly stated in the document submission instructions. See references. The Faculty of Law offers admission only in the fall semester; The faculty does not consider winter or summer applications. Applications for the winter and summer sessions will be cancelled without refund of the registration fee. Make sure your personal statement complies with our formatting guidelines (see below) and has grammatical integrity. Only one submission of the personal statement will be accepted, so it is important to submit the personal statement in its final version in both format and content.
