Legal Design Libro

This book explains how design can be used by lawyers in their current workflows and suggests how design can lead to new avenues of services and products that lawyers can offer to laymen. And even for lawyers and people who are not interested in legal innovation per se, design also holds potential for them. When they build legal documents, define the services they offer clients, and form organizations, design can lead them to better outcomes. Thinking like a designer – and doing it like a designer – can lead to more conscious and successful decisions about how they build work products, customer services, and legal systems. “Written by a legal design expert, it`s undoubtedly a must-have for anyone who wants to use legal design principles. Congratulations to Astrid Kohlmeier and Meera Klemola for their continued work in this area! Design provides a clear, human-centered process for imagining what these best legal systems might be, and then developing and initiating interventions to make those changes happen. It offers intentionality in the face of a system that has been hacked and patched arbitrarily and without user testing. Design has the power to open up the world of law and make it more accessible, democratic and usable. We need a revolution in the way lawyers work and how they present and provide legal services to the public. We need creativity and innovation in the way we lawyers approach our work, our relationship with laymen, and our interactions with each other.

The field of law needs to be rethought and revived, with a culture of design thinking, user research, and human-centered design methods. He refuses to trumpet cool, futuristic technology for its own sake. Design focuses on whether products, services, organizations, and systems are usable and intended to serve the people who provide them. Design thinking has already arrived in management, healthcare and financial services. Law – as a fundamentally service-oriented profession – could benefit from a user-centered design approach. “Putting legal thinking into practice has helped us a lot to develop and implement our concept of innovation and optimal delivery to improve the legal services we offer.” I just read your book The Legal Design. It`s a fantastic piece! It`s one of the most inspiring books in general, not to mention the legal books I`ve read recently. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Please enjoy this first version of Law By Design and in the spirit of design – let me know how it could be improved for you. This is a book for those who wish to introduce legal design at all levels of the legal ecosystem to create better user experiences, improve collaboration, and drive innovation in legal products, services, business models, and society. “Legal Design Thinking has been instrumental in creating our Innovation & Best Delivery Hub and has taken us to a new level of collaboration. The perspectives of clients and internal clients developed have allowed us to create new legal products and implement innovative processes. If you come here to become a designer, or even a legal designer in particular, I hope the following chapters will set you on this path, from which you can find many more formal and rich resources on how to practice design. First, my goal is to move lawyers from unconscious designers – who create services, develop technologies, create policies and legal systems – to conscious, with more attention to user voices, experimentation and test feedback, and the need for more creative and ambitious ideas. This book focuses on how the legal experience could be improved – and how to launch new creative and experimental ideas to do so. Readers will learn the basics of the design process and how it is practiced in the legal field – and finally, how to learn and implement it in their organization. This book, written by leading opinion leaders in the field, Meera Klemola and Astrid Kohlmeier, introduces the concept of legal design as a method of innovation and solving some of the legal industry`s toughest challenges. “This book is the most important publication to date for the legal design community. We will include it as the number 1 resource for our books in our Visual Contracts Academy material.

We can improve the world of legal services and practice through design. I`m writing this book to counter the tendency to talk about legal innovation only in terms of technology. These discussions focus on increasing the efficiency of legal processes, automating human tasks by machines, and increasing productivity through better data and knowledge management. These discussions tend to leave out the concept of design, despite its wealth of methods, processes, tools, and mindsets that can lead to more successful, revolutionary, and intentional innovations (including those that use technology). “I`ve found that our students are able to adopt design methods and apply them immediately in each week`s assignments without us having to connect the dots as much when using product design texts. So you and Meera have done a good job of making legal design quickly accessible to newcomers. Design offers an opportunity to rethink and improve people`s experience with the law. This means both from the layman`s perspective – who must navigate the legal system to deal with a problem or seek justice.
