Georgetown Law Women`s Legal Alliance

Mission Committed to prayer and public relations, we engage with joy and creativity on the hill – and beyond. Aware of the urgent mission of women in our time, we walk with Mary, our example and our mother, and offer a sense of brotherhood to all women believers on campus. As Catholic girls, we strive to create a fraternity of Catholic women focused on service and spiritual development. Curious? We are always happy with new faces! Please contact catholicwomen@georgetown.edu if you have any questions or concerns about the recruitment process. The Georgetown College Academic Council is composed of elected representatives from each class who foster a working relationship between administration, students, and faculty to help students manage and improve their academic lives. Council interacts with College faculty and administration on a variety of issues. The College Academic Council represents Georgetown College students, solicits their opinions on academic matters, and acts on their behalf. He has helped strengthen student-faculty relationships through the Major Mentor Network, Dean`s Student Lunches, the College`s Annual Honors, and the College Major Fair. As an elected student body, the Academic Council wishes to fully serve the College. Feel free to send suggestions, questions or comments to members. We can be reached at cacouncil@georgetown.edu. The Georgetown University Social Innovation and Public Service Fund (SIPS) Fund is a $1.5 million student-run fund that provides approximately $60,000 in prizes each year to help students and alumni start their own social activities. SIPS`s mission stems from the Jesuit tradition of serving others.

Previous projects funded by SIPS include funding the Alternative Break (ABP) program, creating a book depicting chronically hospitalized children, and supporting a start-up that reduces food waste through the sustainable production of cold-pressed juices. Through its Summer Scholars program, SIPS has also funded proposals that have done important work, such as improving cooking practices in Rwanda by bringing ovens into communities and tracking their use, launching a community garden in N.E. DC and the holding of a theatre workshop in France to facilitate dialogue between French people and refugees living in Paris. For more information on past SIPS projects, please visit our website: sips.georgetown.edu/new-page-5 Originally a student organization on campus, the Georgetown Women`s Legal Alliance (“WLA”) connects people associated with the Law Center who are interested in equality and the advancement of women in the legal profession. WLA welcomes alumni, students and faculty of all gender identities at eye level. We support Georgetown`s legal community by building stronger, deeper relationships among those advocating for women`s equality in the legal profession, advocating for equality on campus, and working together to empower women and those who support them as leaders in the legal profession. Mission La Casa Latina is a central place of inclusion where Latinx students can share their stories, access resources critical to success at the top of a hill, and engage in important discussions about the intersectionality of race/ethnicity, class, sexuality, gender, ability, privilege, and power within the Latinx identity. To unite all members of the Latinx community, Casa Latina will ensure that students not only feel welcome at Georgetown, but also feel empowered to grow and thrive in all comprehensive aspects of the university community. Mission Il Circolo Italiano works with students and the Italian department to create an educational and fun environment. Through events ranging from coffee conversations to visits to the Italian embassy, we learn about the Italian language and culture as peers.

Students learning Italian at all levels are welcome. Mission Leaders in Education About Diversity (LEAD) is a dynamic peer education and leadership development program. By fostering open dialogue, LEADers seek to educate themselves and others about diversity and overlapping identities in order to create common ground in the Georgetown University community. Mission We, the Black Theatre Ensemble, value the theatrical, performative and technical talents of artists dedicated to the representation and enrichment of Black cultural heritage in the dramatic arts.
