Here`s some information about the Thunder Bug: Thunder Bug was a custom mold made in 1968 by Clay Diekmann and Tony Vierra of Manx House (a dune buggy shop) in Sunnyvale, California. The company later became known as Bugformance. Only 50 to 70 of these bodies were produced. These were fiberglass constructions laid by hand with helicopter gun reinforcements. They were designed to have the same dimensions as their cousin the Manx. The rear housing has been raised for more distance. The hood seems to be designed for more freedom compared to tanks. Dashboard and hood thicker than most Manx kits.

The interior surfaces were structured. Later versions were formed with a tube under the wing for the wiring harness.
