University of Bath Computer Science Entry Requirements

We also accept the Canadian International Registration Program. Our requirements are the same as for the Abitur. They explore basic mathematical and computational techniques for processing and generating digital images from 2D and 3D object models and scenes. You will learn how to manipulate and animate these models, implement low-level operations and basic machine learning systems for computer vision, and generate realistic images and interactive visualizations. We welcome applications from graduates from all countries, so if you cannot see your country in the list, please contact our admissions team for advice on your specific entry requirements. We do not need a passport in a separate scientific practice confirmation for scientific level A if you are applying to participate in 2022 (or delayed entry in 2023). Computer science is the science behind much of the technology we use in our daily lives. Programming is a central topic, but there is so much more to learn. If you are studying one of the four subjects at an advanced level (mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology), we may be able to consider you without the other requirements of the GCE/PIA/CIE level. Our entry requirements are listed in the “United States of America” section. Your course also requires a desktop or laptop with relatively recent versions of the Windows, Mac, or Linux operating system. Windows 10, macOS Monterey, or Ubuntu 22.04 LTS are recommended. If your first language is not English, but within the last 2 years of graduating in the UK, you may be exempt from our English language requirements. They write programs in two styles of high-level computer programming, functional and imperative. You will learn basic programming concepts such as data structures, loops, recursion, and types. No programming training is required. To support you in your studies, you can access on-campus and Bath facilities such as study rooms, computers and library outside of the schedule. The workload at university is a big step up from school, but everyone is in the same position and there is plenty of support if you need it. T levels are not considered appropriate preparation for this study programme and will therefore not be admitted.

We do not accept SAT specialist tests for direct entry into our degrees. We accept this program for direct entry and our requirements are the same as for a Canadian high school diploma. By combining our degree in Computer Science with pure mathematics, probability and statistics, you will be prepared for a career in data science based on a combination of mathematical and computational modelling such as data analysis and forecasting. You must study mathematics I and II of the branch of science. We cannot accept mathematics for social sciences for this curriculum. Our courses cover a wide range of areas of computer science and explore the traditional software and logic aspects of the subject with particular attention to the underlying mathematics. You will develop a solid knowledge base and a wide range of valuable skills for a career in the field, including learning how to analyse, integrate and apply new ideas and techniques to solve IT problems. This course is designed to meet the growing need for graduates trained in a discipline and also qualified in computer science. You will gain a solid foundation in programming, software development and contemporary techniques in the industry. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees covering a range of specialisations in computer science. Our degrees offer excellent career prospects. You can do an internship as part of most of our degrees to gain hands-on work experience while earning a salary. Computer graphics and vision Human-Computer Interaction Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Mathematical Basics You can specialize in a specific area through optional units and an individual project that combines your interests in a particular area of computer science. Our requirements for the Queensland Senior Certificate of Education are: You need strong performance in mathematics as part of your entry level qualification. We prefer candidates who can demonstrate logical and analytical thinking by studying computer science, mathematics or both.

While we prefer candidates who have previously studied computer science, you do not need to have done so to qualify for this course. This course is for you if you are interested in studying computer science, but want to wait until later in your studies before deciding which area you want to specialize in. This is a large-scale course that gives you the knowledge to apply computer methods to new and emerging computer problems and gain skills highly valued by employers. The course combines software systems design, software development, interaction design, artificial intelligence, computational mathematics, computer graphics and vision. Tailored to your interests, the first year will teach you the basics of computer science, including math and programming skills, followed by advanced and specialized units in subsequent years. In the second year, you will carry out a group project with other students to design and create an interactive application.

You can specialise in a specific area through optional units and an individual project that combines your interests in a specific area of IT.
