“In Vinnitsa have been created a wheelchair, controlled by smartphone. For Ukraine, this kind of transportation is an innovation, similar projects exists only in Canada. Developers say, the Ukrainian project has many advantages. Comparing to conventional device it has at least seven additional functions. Wheelchair can be controlled remotely using your phone, in addition to conventional joystick. Developers plan to improve controller in a future, so wheelchair will go around the obstacles automatically and help user to perform maneuvers”.

“Wheelchair with remote control via smartphone functions has been developed in Vinnitsya. Experts of Vinnitsya’s Ukrainian cybernetic Laboratory, have created controller for smart electric wheelchairs, that can greatly improve quality of life of people with disabilities”.

Smart wheelchair also tested by Gosha Mlodzyanovskyy, known local expert who in person has experience in driving various types of wheelchairs: “I am, literally, delighted” – he said after the demonstration.

On national television Ukraine “UA: The first” came the story of “Mobilis”:

“Vinnitsa cybernetics scientists developed a smart wheelchair controller. It can be managed by user’s smartphone. “The invention has no analogues in Ukraine. Similar technologies are only emerge abroad”, – developers say. In the future, wheelchair would help user to drive in tight places (now this option is still in development). The future options for the controller may include autopilot. ”

Vinnytsia regional state broadcasting company visited our laboratory:

“Vinnitsa cybernetic scientists can make life easier for people with disabilities. They have developed a wheelchair which can be controlled using a smartphone.

Wheelchair can be driven by user using smartphone as remote control from any other part of the room. All you need just mobile phone.
The representative of “Ukrainian cybernetic research” Sergey Ageyev says: “For example, if a person sitting on the couch, the wheelchair can be driven to the user, or moved to any part of apartment. And soon it will work on the basic of autopilot and will be equipped with a navigation system. ”
Developers plan to improve controller which respond to commands from the gadget. In the future, wheelchair would avoid obstacles on the floor during maneuvering.
Moreover, in the research laboratory there is another interesting invention – robotized satellite antenna. It allows broadcasters to conduct direct broadcasts from anywhere in the region.”

Mobilis presentation at the "Creating a world without barriers" conference.

At December 16, 2016 regional forum “Create a world without barriers” started in Vinnytsia hotel “France”. The forum goal is a series of training for social workers Vinnitsa region.

The event was opened by Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Chairman Valery Koroviy. He congratulated the organizers of a forum and congratulated Raisa Panasiuk (one of forum organizers) on his appointment as State Ombudsman for People With special needs.

Right after opening of the forum, «Mobilis» smart wheelchair controller was presented to the audience. The controller was developed by Vinnitsya private research laboratory “Ukrainian Cybernetics Reserach”.

Mobilis upgrades wheelchair with possibility of remote control: it can be controlled with conventional smartphone. “For example, if a person sitting on the couch, it can independently move wheelchair to himself or rearrange it in any part of the apartment.” Also smartphone displays the precise battery charge level as a percentage.

“Moblis” controller is a platform that combines smartphone and wheelchair and allows connecting additional modules. There are plans to develop following modules:

1. Maneuvering assistant in tight conditions, which will allow wheelchair automatically perform simple maneuvers (avoid small obstacles, pass in tight corridors, go through the doorway).
2. Automatic charging system when wheelchair will park to the charger station automatically.

In the future, there are plans to create “autopilot” for a wheelchair that will allow help control it while driving outdoor.
